Bon Bini
Dear music lovers,
Thank you very much for your interest in the 9h edition of the Heineken Bonaire Jazz Festival.
It is with great pleasure that the Bonaire Jazz Foundation is organizing this musical event for so many years now and for this year’s edition we have set our goals even higher than in the past.
Organizing an event of this magnitude is impossible without the (financial) support of our sponsors. Through this medium, we would like to thank our sponsors for their continuous dedication to the Heineken Bonaire Jazz Festival. Many of our sponsors are connected to the festival for many years already, others might be new. We appreciate our partnership and hope you will enjoy the show!
This year’s Heineken Bonaire Jazz Festival will take place in the first weekend of August (August 2,3 and 4) and compared to last year, a few changes have been made to the format of the festival.
Our opening evening however, will stay at Fort Oranje and as usual the theme will be “jazz and poetry”. We are currently working together with SKAL (the cultural department of the public entity of Bonaire) to find the right mix between musical as well as poetry contributions. We have contracted the performer Levie Silvanie (Born in Curaçao and living in the Netherlands). He will bring you world pop jazz in both English and Papiamentu in the highest quality category. We are also very proud with the performance from Venezuala born but long time Bonaire resident Mrs. Andreina Marcano Gonzales and her Jazz ensemble.
Saturday evening will be the events main concert, at the beach of Plaza Resort Bonaire. This concert will feature three fantastic artists, starting with the Slovenian Jazz singer Mrs. Nina Strnad, who performed at the Bonaire Heineken Jazz festival before. She is followed by one of the Netherlands best singers, Mrs. Trijntje Oosterhuis. Trijntje has performed in the past with world stars like Lionel Richie, Burt Bacharach and Dutch performer Marco Borsato.
For latin music lovers, this years festival has been enforced by the Venezuelan salsa band “Porfi Baloa i sus Adolecentes””, who will be the last performance on Saturday evening.
The Sunday will be slightly different from previous years. First of all, this year the location will be at the festival area of Plaza Resort Bonaire making use of the professional stage and musical back line, that has been installed there anyhow. There will be space for jamming, but we have decided to offer you a full concert on this early Sunday evening as well. The Heineken Bonaire Jazz Festival 2013 proudly presents to you the Dutch singer songwriter Miss Montreal. She is a real star and well known for her hits like Just a Flirt and Wish I Could. And who doesn’t know her evergreen “Being alone with Christmas”.
Besides this great musical act on Sunday, Plaza Resort Bonaire will also offer you the opportunity to enjoy their famous beach barbeque.
On this website you will find further information on the artists as well as the exact timing of the program. Please also visit the page “friends of the festival” if you want to become a special friend of our foundation. With donations as low as US$ 100, you will receiving a discount on your admission tickets and some other interesting perks.
Please browse the other pages of this website (especially our sponsor page and their links) and follow us on Facebook and Twitter, so that we can keep you up to date on new developments etc.
We are looking forward to welcome you at this years 9th edition of the Heineken Bonaire Jazz Festival on August 2,3 and 4, 2013!
