On July 31, August 1 and 2 2015, another breathtaking edition of the Bonaire Heineken Jazz Festival will take place!

Dear friends of the Bonaire Heineken Jazz Festival,

It was Sunday, August 3, 2014... ... no, actually it was already Monday, August 4 at about 1 AM, that the 10th Edition of the Bonaire Heineken Jazz Festival came to an end.

And what a festival it was!

At the first night, we enjoyed performances of DJ Maestro and trumpet player Rob van de Wouw from the Netherlands, The Charles Brouwer Band from Aruba and Miss Oleta Adams from the USA (with the Cor Bakker Band from the Netherlands). On Saturday, August 2, many of the visitors were impressed by the show of Mrs. Anne Marie Kors. Especially for this festival, a band was formed to accompany this female singer and we would like to thank Anne Marie Kors, Benji Schaub, Jasper Blokzijl, Pierre Dunker and Gaby Mercera for their lovely music.

Then the stage was set for the British band Matt Bianco, bringing us a selection of their world hits like “Don’t Blame It On That Girl” and “Get Out Of Your Lazy Bed”. The audience had a great time and even many people of the organizational team could be found on the dance floor. Saturday evening was closed with a concert of the Prince of the Bachata, Mr. Frank Reyes from the Dominican Republic, pleasing the audience with his many many hits.

Sunday started out with the cream of the crop of Bonaire’s music artists in a professionally organized Jam Fest. Once again, musical director Benji Schaub brought together the island’s most talented musicians and it was a pleasure for the audience to see and hear them in a 1 ½ hour long show.

One of the festival most impressive bands were the Original Wailers. The spirit of Bob Marley was spread all over the festival area at the beautiful beach of Plaza Beach Resort and the Sunday audience really got where they had been waiting for: Reggae, reggae and more reggae!

And as if that was not enough, Sunday’s event was closed off with a tremendous show by Sergio George’s All Star Band featuring the young star Miss Lesley Grace, Jose “El Canario” Alberto and “The King of Salsa” Mr. Oscar D’Leon!

In this respect, a special word of thanks goes to the Fundashon Bon Intention in Curaçao, who made the performance of this band and these artists possible. The organization of the 10th Bonaire Heineken Jazz Festival would like to thank all artists, the technical crew (stage, sound, light, support), the many volunteers and supporters, the people of Plaza Beach Resort Bonaire, our sponsors, our friends and of course the festival visitors for an unforgettable weekend and we look forward to meeting you all at next year’s event, which will take place on July 31 & August 1 and 2, 2015!

With musical regards,

The Bonaire Jazz Foundation
